About Us
Julie
Owner/Hair Stylist/Make-up Artist
In 1987 Julie started her career in the Fashion industry as an alternate Model for Ebony Magazine. With high demands from the Fashion world Julie was called often to do runway modeling for boutiques in Boston, New York and Rhode Island. While being in this glamorous lifestyle Julie quickly fell in love with the art of hair and makeup. Leaving it all behind she decided to follow her passion in the art of designing hair.  An alumni from the Arthur Angelo Academy of Hair Design, her career experience began with an apprenticeship at the Oasis Salon in Providence RI in 1988.  Starting from the beginning courses, she quickly moved on to take all the advanced courses in cutting and coloring in New York and in Boston with an expertise in hair extensions and ethnic hair.
In 2001 Julie began to work for Sada Salon in Cranston RI. Motivated by the passion she has always held for this industry and its energy, Julie purchased the salon in 2002 and expanded it into two floors. Now a fully functional and successful day spa upstairs she changed the name to Sada Salon & Day Spa meaning “the pure one” bringing in the Zen feel.
Julie has been an ongoing Hairstylist/Makeup artist for the independent film industry such as “The 48” in Providence and Boston. The film industry has lead her to participate on set as the main hairstylist and makeup artist for several TV commercials in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Julie was a frequent hairstylist for channel 10 news reporter Michelle Brown and Anchor women Kelly McGee in Rhode Island.
